New School Cheeseburger Bowl
New School Quality American Cheese
2

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 4 oz. shredded New School American Cheese
- 4 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- ½ cup dill pickles, sliced
- ¼ cup red onion, thinly sliced
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon pickle juice
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped pickles
Directions
Make the burger sauce: In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, and chopped pickles until smooth. Set aside.
Cook the beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook, breaking the beef into crumbles, until browned and fully cooked.
Make it melty: Reduce the heat to low and sprinkle the shredded New School American Cheese over the cooked beef. Stir gently until the cheese is melted and evenly incorporated.
Build the bowls: Divide the lettuce between two bowls. Top with the cheesy beef, tomatoes, pickles, and red onion.
Finish it: Drizzle with the burger sauce.
Serve: Serve immediately while the beef is hot and the cheese is melty.
We believe in better
Fed up with the old school approach, longtime friends Alan Leavitt and Chef Eric Greenspan sought to create a cleaner, tastier alternative to traditional American cheese. After five years of tinkering with the cheese-making process, they created New School. American cheese done right.
